Crisis Averted

So today, after a few hours of panic over a bobbin case, I started and finished my first sewing project on the machine since returning from my mission. And it turned out pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself!

The Diaper Clutch:
Amy at "Diary of a Quilter" came up with this tutorial, it was so easy and way cute!
Love this fabric, from Just Sew here in Highland. Also love the contrast top stitching:
It's lime green stitching in case you can't see.

Okay, some I'm obviously really proud of myself. It took a lot of fiddling with the upper thread tension dial just to get my machine to sew, but once I struck a good balance, it was smooth sailing. Fun easy project. Just need to buy a slim pack of baby wipes and stick in a few diapers, and voila!

Bonus picture: doggy love.

Hilary! That is such a cute diaper clutch! I love the fabric...between you and rachel im starting to feel lame for not sewing. Someday I'll gather enough courage to make a burp cloth or something... In the meanwhile I'll just admire your work!!

Amy - Thanks! Glad you think so too, helps validate the fabric choice. Sewing is fun! And I'm terrible at it! Good thing this project was easy or I would have embarrassed myself in front of all 6 people who read this blog!

Annie - Thanks! Update your blog! Now!

Murlene - Excellent question. I picked it because it's easy and because Mom and I have two baby showers to attend this week. Stir it all together, and out popped the diaper clutch!
